Here’s a guide on how to look your best on your wedding day.
6 Months before
Choose your wedding hair and make up artist for the big day.
Browse through magazines and search the internet for ideas.
If you’ve chosen your dress decide whether you’re having a veil and/or tiara and choose these to complement your dress.
Start doing weekly conditioning treatments on your hair at home.
3 Months before
Start having facials regularly every 4 to 6 weeks. If your budget doesn’t allow for this then try to do a DIY version at home.
Great skin will look gorgeous in the wedding photos and your make up will look perfect on the big day.
2 Months before
Start having regular manicures to strengthen your nails, once a fortnight should keep nails in tip top condition.
6 Weeks before
Have your trial run of hair and make up. Make sure your stylist knows exactly what you want and take your tiara and veil with you along with a photo of your wedding dress.
Tell your make up artist the colours that you have chosen for your wedding theme so that it all ties in. If you’re not used to wearing a lot of make up tell your make up artist because you still want to look like yourself on the big day just more enhanced!
If you’re not having a make up artist book a make up lesson and continue practising the look at home.
3 Weeks before
Have your hair permed or chemically treated to allow it to settle down.
2 Weeks before
This is the time for your final trim prior to the wedding.
Don’t go for a drastic cut at this late stage because you would have had your trial run.
Have an intensive hair conditioning treatment at your salon to give your hair gloss and shine.
1 Week before
Have hair coloured or highlighted at your salon so that it’s fresh for the wedding day.
Avoid using swimming pools, Jacuzzis and hot tubs after dying your hair because it will make the colour fade.
If you want to have a set of false nails it’s best to apply them now so that you are used to wearing them.
Have your final facial so that it brings any impurities to the surface and allows time for any blemishes to calm down.
3 days before
Have a pedicure ready for the honeymoon and get all your waxing done, for optimum results grow the hair for 3 or 4 weeks prior to the waxing appointment.
If you have never waxed before it is best to have had at least one session of waxing before your pre wedding appointment so that you know how your skin reacts.
1 Day before
Have a manicure and a warm relaxing bath before bed.
Wedding Day
Wear a button down top, shirt or bath robe so that it doesn’t ruin your hair and make up when you take it off. Check nails for chips and touch up as necessary.
Now you’re ready to walk down the aisle feeling beautiful.
