Hafton Castle is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies both inside the castle and in the grounds. It is the perfect venue for intimate family weddings and many of our guests extend the day and stay for 2,3 nights or even a week. The joy of a wedding at Hafton is that couples can tailor make their wedding to suit themselves. We help along the way as little of as much as they wish.

Hafton Castle is a magnificent building with views across Holy Loch, set in its own delightful gardens with its own magnificent indoor swimming pool. (Please note that the price quoted does not include the pre heating and use of the pool – there is an additional charge of £500 for this.)

The Castle is a superb house with its wonderful indoor pool, billiard room, toy room, big conservatory and lots of outdoor space, plenty of space for the large number of people it sleeps. The magnificent front hall has plenty of seats, wood-burner and a grand piano. The Castle was built by James Hunter, and its architect was David Hamilton who also designed Dunoon Castle.

The bedrooms are very comfortable and all have en suite showers. The building has some magnificent features, beautiful ceilings, carved doors and a superb staircase. There are a numerous spacious public rooms. The drawing-room has a bar area and double doors onto the small drawing-room and the two rooms open out into one very large room, perfect for weddings or other gatherings.

Outside, the gardens have old trees, lawns and the views across the Loch are beautiful. The Castle can be reached from Glasgow Airport in approximately 45 minutes by car and guests usually arrive via the ferry which departs from Gourock and crosses the Firth of Clyde, a very romantic and atmospheric start to their stay at Hafton. There are many local activities, golf, swimming, clay pigeon shooting, sailing, fishing and quad biking to name but a few. Dunoon itself is the home of the Cowal Highland Gathering

The Castle is the perfect venue for a wedding. Guests can tailor-make the occasion to suit their tastes and budget. Rental rates are reasonable and the wedding can be extended to enjoy the company of your friends and family beyond the day itself.
