Set in the romantic Scottish Borders Wedderburn Castle is the perfect location for your wedding and reception. The castle was built 240 years ago as a place to entertain and designed by Scotland’s most renowned architects, Robert Adam and James Gillespie Graham. Today Wedderburn’s magnificent reception rooms provide the perfect space for large and small wedding ceremonies and receptions, while the sweeping stone stairs provide a dramatic entrance.

Wedderburn is suitable for parties of up to 92 guests and castle rental includes use of all 12 bedrooms and five reception rooms. In recent years the interiors and grounds have been immaculately restored to retain the property’s original charm and also include all modern comforts required to make your stay enjoyable. There is accommodation for 26 resident guests in the castle and for up to 42 if using the luxurious estate cottages and lodges.

Religious and civil ceremonies can be held at Wedderburn, or there are many beautiful churches nearby. During your stay activities for guests – such as clay shooting in the grass park – are also available. Entertainments after the wedding can include a quartet during the drinks reception and we welcome live music and dancing in the ballroom after dinner.

Wedderburn is celebrating its fifteenth year as a wedding venue. During your stay our skilled in-house events management and catering teams will deliver a tailor-made programme and liaise with you on every element of your party to create the perfect wedding.
